THEOS brings the piano into house music both in the studio and beside the decks. The Paris-based DJ, producer and musician combines club selections with live playing, drawing on a childhood surrounded by jazz, funk and classical music, followed by an enthusiasm for hip-hop and R&B. Moving to London to study sound engineering gave him time to develop those influences into his own productions.
Releases on Shall Not Fade and a Defected collaboration with Oden & Fatzo established a wider setting for that work. In 2023, Kerri Chandler invited him to play piano at PIV Festival; further shared performances followed, including a back-to-back set at Chinois Ibiza. THEOS has said he adds keys only when the music calls for them. Songwriting is another part of his practice: Love Me Right began on his first day working with Fleur De Mur, while Astels provides a separate outlet for his more pop-oriented ideas.
