Bio
Brian Brainstorm learned drums from his father before he learned software, and by his own account Jamaican sound system culture pointed the rest of the way: he told Trommel & Bass that he works through sound clash recordings each month for sirens, shouts and stray vocal fragments. The Cologne producer dates his first drum and bass to 2008, says he left hip-hop production behind in 2009 and started DJing the year after that. In the same conversation he set out a lean rig - FL Studio, a MIDI keyboard and a small controller, with Massive and z3ta+ 2 covering bass, midrange and piano parts - alongside a newer working habit of writing reggae riddims, having them voiced, then remixing them himself. Jungle Cakes, Liondub International and Serial Killaz all carry his records.
