SIT records much of its music as jam sessions: ideas may settle within a few hours, then Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia reshape the arrangement until it holds. The Romanian duo—whose name expands to Sideways Invisibility Theory—grew from a friendship that became studio work after the pair met in 2006. Their live setup mirrors that process, using laptops, a drum machine, effects, controllers and a mixer to leave room for improvisation instead of reproducing finished tracks exactly. SIT’s first release arrived through Jesus Loved You, while Amphia became the principal home for the project and the label the pair built around a selective audio-visual identity. Cons and Caia also work together in the trio Amorf with pianist Mischa Blanos, but SIT keeps the focus on the two producers’ tightly interlocked electronic language. Releases including Sideways, Morfoza and Magnetized trace a catalogue where minimal structures remain flexible enough to change in the room.
