Colombo approaches the booth as a producer performing his own work. Alejandro Rojo, from Málaga, has built a substantial breakbeat catalogue and DJ sets made entirely from his released and unreleased productions. His music combines fast, syncopated drums with melodic detail and a wide range of sampled and synthesized sounds, placing him firmly within Andalusia’s breaks scene.
He taught himself production after early experiments with PlayStation Music, waiting years before taking up DJing professionally. Breakspoll named him Best Producer in 2012 and 2015, and records for iBreaks, Raveart and 13monkeys have carried his work beyond the local circuit. Colombo also produces tech house and minimal/deep tech as Alexic Rod. Across the two identities, making music remains the starting point; performing gives him a direct way to present that material to a crowd.
