Biografía
Joshua Morris is an artist and producer based in the seaside city of Cape Town, South Africa. With a sound that combines gang vocals with blown-out bass lines and psychedelic textures, his psych-pop sensibilities have drawn comparisons to artists like Franc Moody, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and a “sunny” King Krule.
Morris’ roots lie in the local psych-rock scene, where he launched his musical career spearheading the psych-rock group In Bloom. Having performed alongside the likes of DZ Deathrays, he went on to establish a recording studio before turning inward to shape his own sound.
His debut single, “Make You Mine,” is the first product of this experiment. Releasing in November 2024, the indie-pop bop jabs at the unrealistic promises made in today’s digital age of dating, poking holes in the futility of possession and finding joy in the realisation that — actually — they were never meant to be “yours” in the first place.
