Biografía

Reflex Blue connects older club sounds with contemporary production, drawing on progressive house, trance, UK tech house and early bleep-and-bass. Crisp percussion, low-end weight and vocal samples are recurring elements in the artist's own presentation, with releases on Limousine Dream, FUSE, Kalahari Oyster Cult and Slapfunk extending that musical range. Collaboration became a more important part of his writing as the project developed. With DJ Life, he founded Program Earth, opening the label with their joint Meganeura release before making space for friends and like-minded producers. He has described sampling older records without feeling obliged to reproduce their original production methods. The past supplies ideas and sounds, while the studio remains a place to make different combinations from them.
