Achanté’s music either moves you, or makes you move.
A fiercely authentic artist, Achanté a.k.a. Chantelle Menezes is a Mumbai-bred, Toronto- based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She blends analog, digital worlds, and global cultures to pen rich and intimate landscapes around her voice as her lead instrument.
She proudly claims and expresses a complex layer of identities through music that’s anything but formulaic, rooted in old-school jazz and funk, interwoven with soul-pop, electronica and Carnatic noodling. Achanté has lent her vocals to Bollywood movies, featured on Rolling Stone Magazine, Rolling Hype, NOW Toronto and performed at a $100 million wedding with A.R. Rahman, but what truly makes her light up, is the ability to connect human beings to themselves, to each other, and to the world, through music.
Achanté released her 5 track debut E.P. ‘Journey to the Centre of the Hearth’ this August 2024, a reflection of her own multicultural upbringing, connecting Eastern, Western, acoustic and electronic worlds.
