Biografía

Svreca is Enrique Mena, a Madrid-based DJ and producer who approaches techno as a space for experimentation as well as dancing. His sets develop patiently, using rhythm to connect abstract textures, listening music and more physical club material. That approach has taken him to Tresor and Berghain in Berlin and Japan's Labyrinth, alongside clubs and festivals across Europe. Semantica, the label he founded in 2006, is an extension of his musical judgment, bringing his own productions into conversation with artists including Surgeon, Oscar Mulero and Donato Dozzy. He has also worked with labels such as Jealous God and Spazio Disponibile. Mena is selective about releasing his own music rather than pursuing a constant output. His How to Become Nothing EP drew on a sustained interest in Louise Bourgeois' work, and its title track developed from an abandoned Rrose remix into a new composition with the original artist's permission.
