Facundo Mohrr has a strict studio clock: in a 2017 interview, he said anything he made at night was usually deleted the next morning. The Buenos Aires producer prefers early starts, intuition and what he calls “happy accidents”—loops and samples twisted, reversed or slowed until an unexpected combination appears. He began experimenting with Fruity Loops at 18 after a school friend showed him the software. A 2006 remix of Björk’s “Aurora,” sent to Hernán Cattáneo and played by him at an Argentine festival, helped turn that experiment into a career. Mohrr’s records later found homes on All Day I Dream, Shanti Radio Moscow, Cacao and other labels, while collaborations with Valdovinos, Juan Hansen and Valentín Huedo reflect his open approach to voices and rhythm. As a DJ, he deliberately avoids the obvious: afternoon gatherings, dark clubs and late-night rooms call for different music. The thread is less a fixed genre than patience, hypnotic movement and the moment when the dance floor stops anticipating what comes next.
