Biografía
Jay Bliss is Bucharest-based DJ and producer Iulian Cazan, whose music moves between house and techno with a strong connection to Detroit. His involvement in Romania’s underground began with organising raves in Sibiu, followed by a residency at the city’s Chill Out club. He opened the Electrique Boutique record shop with Markus Homm and formed Hermannstadt Collective with Mihai Popoviciu, making collaboration and scene-building lasting parts of his career. Alongside records for labels such as 20:20 Vision and Fear of Flying, he runs Stomping Grounds and Vade Mecum, and also performs as Iovan Iorgovan. His approach to selecting music favours simplicity and effectiveness without sacrificing character. That breadth is audible in the scope of his DJ work, including a four-and-a-half-hour recording from Bucharest’s Platforma Wolff that travels across different strands of electronic music.
