Biografía

Isaac Carter's deep house brings Chicago and Detroit influences into a musical outlook shaped in London. Raised around grime and UK funky, he developed a taste for house through clubbing, record collecting and throwing parties in Manchester. His sets favour swing, warmth and patient development, an approach he has taken to Glastonbury, Rex Club in Paris and DC-10 in Ibiza. Vocals play an important role in his productions for his own Ochi label. Carter looks for singers with a distinctive character, including his regular collaborator Biyi, because he wants the music to reward listening away from a club as well as on the dance floor. His partnership with Callum Asa has also produced Last Call for Rhythm Section International. The same care informs his DJing: when playing larger rooms, he adjusts the build-up and release of tension while keeping faith with the music he likes.
