Biografía
Nightly Closures is Spence Cotton, a Toronto-based house producer whose musical roots reach back to Portsmouth’s rave scene. Funk and disco were his early entry points, with Chic, Parliament and Chaka Khan leading him towards Chicago house, Detroit techno and a life behind the decks. After moving to Canada in 1999, he played Toronto clubs including Nasa and Element.
Production eventually became his main outlet. Under the Nightly Closures name, Cotton makes deep, soulful house that carries those early influences into his own records. His partnership with Martin Luciuk runs through tracks such as Into the Club, alongside solo work for Deep Clicks. The emphasis remains on the pleasure of a good groove: music shaped by years of playing records as well as making them.
