THEMBA brings South African musical influences into a broad house-and-techno sound, working with local singers and percussionists as part of that approach. Launched in 2018 by Themba Nkosi, already known through his career as Euphonik, the project draws on the soul and African music he heard growing up near Johannesburg. Hugh Masekela and Stimela are among those early reference points.

Ibiza became an important second setting for the music. He recorded Modern Africa, Pt I – Ekhaya while living on the island, and established his Colours residency at Chinois in 2022. In interviews, he has described the island's everyday life as an influence alongside its clubs. The Heritage EP paid tribute to Fela Kuti, while work with Jack Back connected him with another side of international house. African musical identity remains central, expressed through both studio collaborations and the audiences he reaches as a DJ.
