Biografía

Nandu prefers momentum to endless revision. In a 2020 interview, the Copenhagen producer said he could create a track in a day and spend another arranging and mixing it; work that lingered too long risked losing the unpolished details he valued. At the time, his studio was simply the living room, with equipment brought down from shelves as needed. Born Rasmus Vincent Jansen, Nandu began on trumpet as a child and carries interests in jazz, rock and pop into rhythm-led electronic music. He has lived in Copenhagen since 2009 and once worked on bookings at Culture Box, giving him a view of the city from both booth and infrastructure. Releases for Innervisions, Afterlife, Siamese, Watergate and Rebirth widened his catalogue, while the Out Of Options label—launched during the pandemic—gave him a direct home for solo work and close collaborators. The result is melodic club music whose rough edges are part of the composition, not defects to polish away.
