Evosonic Radio / Records
Evosonic Radio was the world's first independent radio station for electronic music, which could be received via cable and satellite from 1997 to 1999.
Evosonic Radio did not submit to the conventions of format radio, but gave its music editors and DJs a lot of freedom.
This concept, unique in Germany, won the "German Dance Award" in the "Best Medium" category in January 2000. Chris-Maico Schmidt aka Mike S., who was responsible for the music played most of the time as program director, accepted this award. 15 years later he founded Evosonic Records. Today, as then, Chris-Maico Schmidt makes sure that the label does not submit to any conventions and that his artists have the freedom that is indispensable for the one same goal: high musical quality - then as now.
