Biografie

Billie Brown brings gospel, soul, funk and blues roots to a longstanding career in house music. Raised singing in a Brooklyn Baptist church, she found another musical home at Paradise Garage, where Larry Levan's DJ sets helped inspire her move into the underground scene. Nobody's Business, made with Boyd Jarvis and Timmy Regisford, began a catalogue of collaborations that would include Oliver Stumm, Jamie Lewis, Kenny Dope and Louie Vega. As the lead singer of H2O, she toured internationally, with performances extending from New York's Limelight and Palladium to Ministry of Sound, Heaven and Southport Weekender in Britain. Zurich's Kaufleuten has also been a recurring stage for her since 1998. Her work ranges beyond house vocals into live appearances with bands and acting in the Swiss series and film Tschugger, while collaborations such as Strawberry Lips with Shoao and Dennis Liber continue her connection to Purple Music.
