Biografie

A Synth Happens concert can mean roughly 100 microphones, 140 audio channels and a philharmonic orchestra sharing space with samplers and Moog synthesis. Andreas Henneberg described that logistical puzzle in a 2021 interview, four years after beginning the orchestral project. The Berlin producer had already spent two decades moving between studio engineering, DJ work and live electronics. He co-runs SNOE, records with Daniel Nitsch as The Glitz, and has also released under the Cascandy and Hennon names. Henneberg’s solo catalogue ranges from the albums Mountain and Seventeen to records for Bedrock and Ritter Butzke; in 2026, his remix of Carbon’s Bodies Interlace returned him to the latter label. His everyday studio practice is less pre-planned than the orchestral shows: he has said that random beats or a synthesizer phrase usually provide the first useful spark. Whether working alone or with a large ensemble, groove remains the organising principle, with arrangement and technology serving the movement rather than replacing it.
