Fur Coat is the Barcelona-based project of Sergio Muñoz, whose melodic techno places extended development and emotional atmosphere at the centre of both productions and DJ sets. It began as a partnership with Israel Sunshine in Caracas in 2010, releasing its debut album through Crosstown Rebels before becoming Muñoz's solo project in 2020. His work has since extended across club records, the Renaissance album Polyphony and remixes for artists including Röyksopp, Sasha and Stephan Bodzin. DJ mixes for BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix and Balance reflect the same interest in building a sustained musical journey. Fur Coat has performed at fabric, Watergate and Stereo, alongside festival appearances including DGTL. A live performance with a 20-piece orchestra at Amsterdam's Gashouder brought a different scale to the project. Muñoz also runs Oddity, founded in 2017 as another outlet for his musical direction.
