Biografie

Victor Ruiz did not arrive at techno by a straight route. The Brazilian producer grew up listening to rock and metal, learned bass as his first instrument and began his DJ career in psytrance. He has said that this background lets him approach techno from outside its orthodoxies, using bass movement and cross-genre collaboration to make mechanical structures feel more human. After a difficult creative reset in 2023, Ruiz stopped trying to fit neatly into festival and label expectations and widened his palette again through VOLTA, the imprint he founded for that purpose. The result became “VICTOR”, his first album, released on VOLTA in July 2026. Its fourteen tracks range across techno, melodic electronics, breaks, drum and bass and ambient textures, with guests including Perry Farrell and Ram Dass. The breadth feels less like a detour than a return to the musical curiosity that preceded his techno career.
