Biografie

KUSS is drawn to the point where techno's physical force meets its more psychedelic possibilities. Based in Paris, he works as both a DJ and live performer, building music around percussion, shifting textures and hypnotic repetition. Rock is an important part of that outlook: he has cited Pink Floyd and Spacemen 3 alongside techno figures such as Oscar Mulero and Sleeparchive, and described beginning tracks with an extended jam before shaping the arrangement. His Derivative of the Unconscious project gives him room to explore ambient, downtempo and progressive rock more directly. A relationship with Electric Rescue and Skryptöm helped bring his early EPs into focus; subsequent collaborations and appearances at clubs including Fuse, RSO and Khidi have widened the audience for that exploratory approach.
