Coco Bryce brings a long history in hardcore, hip-hop and breakbeat to his take on jungle. Based in Breda, the Dutch DJ and producer started playing gabber and UK breakbeat at parties in the south of the Netherlands after getting his first decks in 1995. Production followed later that decade, and his first vinyl release arrived in 2000.
His music has found homes on Fresh 86, Future Retro and Rupture, as well as his own Myor imprint. Sampled breakbeats provide a familiar foundation, but he has little interest in repeating one formula. In the studio, a computer, Ableton and a handful of plug-ins are enough: the challenge is finding possibilities in a few sounds.
An unexpected contribution came from Hotline Miami 2. Royalties from tracks used in the game helped finance Myor Massiv, giving his growing interest in jungle a dedicated outlet.
