Biografie

Bambounou (Jérémy Guindo de Montalembert) is a Paris-born producer and DJ with Malian and Polish roots, known for crafting hypnotic, percussive club music that explores the tension between movement and abstraction. A key figure in the new wave of French electronic music in the early 2010s, he emerged as part of the YounGunZ and ClekClekBoom collectives, sharpening his DJ instincts at iconic venues like Social Club and Concrete. He made his debut on Modeselektor’s 50Weapons, releasing two cult albums (Orbiting and Centrum) that fused rhythmic precision with spacious minimalism. Later, he expanded this vision through more conceptual releases on AD93 and, since 2021, through his own label BAMBE — a space dedicated to stripped-down, high-pressure club experiments, also home to artists like GiGi FM and Polygonia. His collaborative works with Bruce (Final Conference) and Priori (C.R.U.S.H.), as well as remixes for Moby and Sampha, continue to explore rhythm as structure and sound as spatial inquiry. As a DJ, his sets balance deep groove with percussive disorientation, always in search of the unfamiliar. With Levantarse EP, his latest solo project, Bambounou opens a new chapter — one that pushes further into shifting forms, fine textures, and the subtle mechanics of the dancefloor.
