Biografie

Mateo Dufour’s route to house began with a keyboard his older brother brought home. Around nine, the Buenos Aires-area musician started exploring it whenever it was free, then studied piano, jazz and blues before moving into composition and production. The decisive record arrived years later: hearing St Germain’s Boulevard at eighteen or nineteen clarified the kind of music he wanted to make. Ableton Live offered another revelation, giving him the freedom to handle rhythm, synthesis and sampling like a one-person band. That background helps explain a catalogue in which compact minimal-house structures retain a musician’s attention to touch and timing. Dufour’s first European festival appearance came at Amsterdam’s No Art Festival in 2022, a milestone he discussed the following year. Releases for Key Records and No Art led to later work including Break It Up on Gettraum and the 2026 collaboration Golasso with JUAAN on Días de Campo Records.
