Marcelo Demarco is a South American artist and the founder of SURO Records, whose influence on the electronic music scene spans over three decades. Hailing from Uruguay, Marcelo’s deep-rooted passion for culturally inspired dance music has driven him to craft distinctive Techno tracks since the mid-1990s. His evolving sound has earned him an esteemed reputation that continues to resonate globally.
Also known as Mark Demark, Marcelo’s releases have appeared on renowned labels such as SCI+TEC, BCCO, and his own imprints, SURO and SURAW Records. Over the years, he has garnered support from some of the industry’s biggest names, including Dubfire, Spartaque, Sam Paganini, Radio Slave, Sama Abdulhadi, and Marco Effe. His work has also been remixed by notable artists like Alex Arnout, El Mundo & Satori, Cosmic Boys, and DoC, further cementing his position in the scene.
Celebrated for his immersive DJ sets, Marcelo often performs extended performances, seamlessly blending digital and vinyl formats. His live approach reflects his commitment to authenticity, emphasizing the primal simplicity and rhythmic control that define his productions.
