Born in Chicago, Ed Nine grew up rooted in the city’s house music culture and has been DJing since 2007. He learned the art of recording on his grandmother’s tapes and honed his DJ skills through high school, eventually landing gigs at renowned clubs like Zentra and Smart Bar. In 2010 he turned to production, crafting his own sound. Known for sets ranging from deep and soulful to infectious acid house, he reads any room while staying true to the sound. His releases on NDATL, Inner Balance, King Street, and GLA have charted globally on Traxsource and record stores. He placed third in Louie Vega’s global remix competition on Nervous Records out of over 950 submissions. Influenced by the sounds of Dance Mania, Cajual, Relief, and legends like B96 Mix Masters, Masters at Work, and Kerri Chandler, his work reflects a deep appreciation for the rich history of house and electronic music. Always searching for inspiration, his goal is to move people the same way music moves him.
