‌

Biografie

Rodrigo Deem combines progressive trance’s extended melodic writing with a willingness to explore harder-edged electronic sounds. His influences reach beyond dance music to Jamiroquai, Depeche Mode and Vangelis, and his collaborations include Heatbeat, Vitodito and 19 Hz. He began experimenting with US hard house around 2003, moved towards trance in 2006 and started producing professionally the following year. His relationship with Enhanced Progressive has included releases such as Lux and collaborations with Las Salinas, as well as remix work for Aruna and Jason Ross. Under the Talemono alias, later renamed DEEM, he separated a big-room trance direction from the progressive sound associated with Rodrigo Deem. Overload brought that work to Armada and into Armin van Buuren’s sets. Rather than treating older and newer trance as opposites, he has described wanting to retain long-form melodies while adapting their production to contemporary sounds. His subsequent catalogue extends to Allsense Recordings with You and a remix of Sander Bastiaans’ Heartstrings.
