The defining factor - In an era of perfection and sterility, the Viennese techno producer
Frank Mai provides an authentic antipole. While others are only looking for fame, he was
always concerned with the music itself. He has been a DJ in the alternative electronic
music scene for around twenty years, to date, and has been creating music for the last ten
years. Now is the time to move from the second to the first row.
Analogue or digital - one of the biggest points of controversy. Frank Mai has amassed a
small collection of analogue gear and now integrates it into his constant workflow. He
primarily crafts his music through analogue live jams, utilizing his modular synths and drum
machines. His focus lies in creating experimental, captivating sounds that possess a strong
sense of identity. Whether you can hear the difference or not is up to you.
Throughout his twenty years of DJ experience, he has graced the stages of Austria's most
prominent clubs, including Horst Vienna and O - der Klub, sharing the spotlight with
renowned artists. Always in the mix: his own
productions, such as “Phenomenon” which will be released in August 2023 on the US
techno label "CMND CTRL”. Many others are waiting in the pipeline…
