Bio

Pulser's melodic trance grew out of a fascination with electronic pop and the possibilities of a sequencer. Andy Perring spent his school years experimenting with music and computers, listening to Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk and New Order. Hearing Grace's Not Over Yet helped turn that fascination towards dance production. Cloudwalking and My Religion established the Pulser name alongside his work with The Olmec Heads and Insigma. DJ appearances at Godskitchen and his Elements nights at Riga's Club Essential connected that studio work to a regular club audience. His album The Space Between the Stars opened the sound further, bringing vocal songwriting and influences beyond trance into collaborations with Molly Bancroft and Mike Koglin. Its Voyager also reflects a personal interest in astronomy and science fiction. There is a less polished side to his output that he has chosen to share, too. The Vault, his own Bandcamp archive, gathers demos, unfinished ideas, alternate versions and material from different aliases. Perring presents it as a way for music that might otherwise stay on a hard drive to be heard, inviting listeners into the experiments behind the finished records.
