A pioneer of the NYC, New Jersey, 90’s house sound, he’s produced many classics with releases such as as “Back In the Dark”, “Garage Shelter”, “I Can’t Make Up My Mind”, “I Wanna Go To A Club” that all contain Jovonn’s distinctive vocal delivery and trade mark production, as the man says himself ‘gritty sounds, hard kicks, jazzy chords and a phat bassline’.

Jovonn launched his new label venture Body N’Deep in 2017 via clone distribution, dedicated to releasing the hottest deep and raw underground house tracks from Jovonn and his crew of producers and vocalists including tracks from legendary artists such as Karizma, Delano Smith and Louie Vega. His album ‘Timeless’ was released on the label receiving great reviews from DJ’s and Press, showcasing Jovonn’s trademark new jersey sound.

In-between running the label and DJing worldwide Jovonn has still found time to release on prestigious labels such as Nu Groove/Defected with ‘Random/Get Over It’, ‘The Blaque Katt EP’ and more recent ‘The Fun Houze EP’. All welcomed by a new generation of DJs and producers, demonstrating Jovonn’s ability to keep relevant with his classic NYC house sound and just updating it a little for today.

The Body N’Deep label goes from strength to strength releasing productions from established artists and rising talents, with releases and A&R from the man himself, ensuring everything has that timeless Body N’Deep sound. Look out for a new Jovonn album in 2025 as well as further releases on the  label..

DJ Romain

Jon's dedication started when he was a teenager, a familiar face regularly seen in many of the underground clubs  in New York City.  In the early 80's Jon began his exposure djing mostly at local neighborhood house parties. It was not until years later that he actually gained the opportunity to spin in clubs. The djing eventually lead Jon to embark on producing and to create his collection of necessary studio equipment. After working at an independent record label for two years, he grasped the knowledge of the industry and was ready to advance. Jon's entrepreneur side surfaced in 1996 when he finally decided to start his own label called Distant Music. Jon's main concern was to launch a powerful catalogue without the focus of his own productions.  Soon after he displayed his evolving talent with productions such as You Groove Me, Fluttie Pebbles and remixes under Distant Music. In 2001 Jon produced It's Yours, for Chez Music.  Quickly cultivating into a club anthem, It's Yours  reached #1 in the Dj Hype Charts and # 29 in the UK pop charts. Since then Jon has directed his focus to continue releasing quality house music.  In between his hectic schedule that involves traveling around the world weekend to weekend, Jon finds his haven in his studio.  After twenty years in the business Jon Cutler hopes to maintain the ability to inject his soulful flavor to the house music community.
