Always refusing to stay in one sonic niche for too long, Huxley – whether working solo or with collaborators – switches up his sound, tries new things and colours outside the lines with every new outing. Not afraid of a big hook or slaying bass line, he is an artist who unites a variety of sounds, styles and scenes with ease, and always proves as fun as he is well informed. As a Dj, Huxley is someone as comfortable headlining a vast festival stage as he is holding down a small and sweaty basement. He does so from Africa to Australia and is the sort of selector who always delivers a slick high impact dose of the good stuff. But Sidney Charles in his age of twenty-something already looks into many happy faces, when he enters the decks. Everybody, who understands this love-binding kind of music, has to live the urban movement behind it, the culture that brings people of all kinds together. Exactly these motions are fascinating the young man, born as Sidney Charles Hurricane Vieljans in Hamburg, Germany.

With the age of 15 Sidney Charles discovered the magic of the two black discs spinning on the 1210s. At the beginning Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, Breakbeat and Turntablism was Sidney´s medium to express his emotions. Highly delighted and inspirited by the time of late 80s and early 90s, when the movement, accompanied by young culture, began, Sidney Charles was finding the higher BPM-numbers of House & Techno were leading to more inspiration and happiness.

He is not a musician, nor a percussionist. He is a collector. A collector of culture and experiences. The energy and feeling around the music is what makes the difference and letting Sidney Charles not be one of manys.

Berlin based duo Mat.Joe are the latest addition to the FMLY roster. Coming from a background of rap, skateboarding and breakdancing - influencing their style of House today. From their roots as hip hop producers they have moved to producing and playing crispy Housebeats paired with rhythmic Soul and Hip Hop elements. The result is deep and dancefloor-qualified, warm and rough.

Being best friends and moving from Hannover to Berlin to follow their sound - you can see their passion and comaraderie behind the decks. Being inspired by the Berlin culture and every day places such as subway rides, late night showers and favourite bars, their music has taken them on a journey.
