Bio

Belgian producer Samm co-founded the label and community Magnifik Music with fellow producer Ajna, and has played Tomorrowland. He describes his sets as prepared and then rebuilt in the room: tracks lined up to raise the energy, the order changed according to how the crowd reacts, which he contrasts with production as detailed, solitary work. The route there was indirect. By his own account he spent his early professional years producing Dutch pop, and a publishing deal at twenty-five pushed him out of that and into techno and other electronic styles. Does It Matter was the record that opened things up; he has said its success turned his life around, with Adriatique, CamelPhat and Keinemusik behind it. His recent releases come out on Magnifik in afro house, melodic house and indie dance.
