A journey from the raw energy of live bands to the hypnotic pulse of the dancefloor defines the artistic path of Alexey Dunchyk. Originally from Belarus and now based in Spain, Alexey’s background as a guitarist in genres ranging from post-rock to screamo has given him a unique perspective on rhythm and texture, which he now channels into the realm of techno.
Forsaking a traditional DJ path, Alexey dedicated himself to production, cultivating a sound that is deeply personal and instantly recognizable. He is drawn to the darker, atmospheric, and immersive side of techno, building his tracks with intricate polyrhythms, unique timbres, and powerful, pulsating percussion. His signature style is marked by a palpable texture - a "constant itching crackle" and "raspy, distorted" sonic layers that pierce through the mix, a result of his hybrid approach blending DAW precision with the distinct character of hardware.
This meticulous sound design has captured the attention of leading figures in the industry. His music has been championed by artists such as Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Ellen Allien, Boys Noize, and Tommy Four Seven, among others, and has resonated within the iconic walls of Berghain, Tresor, RSO Berlin, Bassiani, Khidi, and Razzmatazz. His discography has grown to include high respected labels like Mord’s sublabel Kazerne, Soma, MindTrip, ARTS, Tar Hallow, Renegade Methodz, Recorded Things, among many others.
Having spent years honing his craft in the studio, Alexey Dunchyk has now confidently stepped onto the stage as a live performer. His debut in Barcelona in June 2025 marked a new chapter, translating his complex studio creations into an intense, hardware-driven live experience. Following a successful performance at the legendary Tresor in October 2025, Alexey is poised to share his uncompromising vision of techno with audiences worldwide.
