Bio

Chris Metcalfe’s trance is grounded in the experience of a working club DJ. His early years at Club M Tall Trees led from watching visiting artists to a residency of his own, giving him a practical understanding of pacing, energy and emotional release. First Encounter began his relationship with Armada in 2009, followed by a sustained connection with John O’Callaghan’s Subculture and releases through Future Sound of Egypt. Melody and euphoria remain central to his production, but he describes patience and consistency as equally important: ideas need time to become finished tracks. His international touring has included Australia, Japan and Argentina, carrying that high-energy, melodic approach well beyond the UK clubs where he started.
