Bio

Murch’s ambition to make techno took shape on the dance floor at Plovdiv’s Club Plazma. The Bulgarian DJ and producer Nikola Dimitrov has described wanting to play there long before he eventually did, using that goal to drive his early experiments in production. His music combines forceful bass lines with a melodic, emotionally charged side, with particular attention to how an arrangement develops in a club. Space 92 and Bulgarian artists including Metodi Hristov, Pavel Petrov and Phoenix Movement have been important reference points. Alongside releases and collaborations with Kristy Plam, Murch works as a label manager at Derailed Music, keeping an active role in the scene around his own productions. Live recordings from Lost in Hills and his Between the Lines mixes offer another view of his musical choices.
