Bio

Cabanne’s finely detailed house music has roots in jazz, soul and his training as a guitarist. The Paris-based producer and DJ, Jean-Guillaume Cabanne, became part of the French electronic scene in the 1990s, developing a rhythmic language associated with minimal and microhouse. His partnerships have taken several forms: Ultrakurt with David Gluck, Copacabannark with Ark, and participation in the improvised Narod Niki ensemble at MUTEK alongside artists including Ricardo Villalobos, Daniel Bell and Akufen. After working with Telegraph, he established Minibar in 2005, giving his own music and that of fellow producers a continuing outlet. His releases have also appeared on Perlon and 7th City. An early resident at Concrete, he has balanced this studio and label work with a long international DJ career.
