Substance is a music producer from Sherbrooke, QC Canada. After discovering PK sound and the Canadian West Coast Rave Culture back in 2011, what started as a hobby took a massive turn when he started promoting his own parties with some friends under DirtyCake in 2012.

Booking some of dubstep's biggest names in the likes of Truth, Goth Trad, Hatcha and many more, Substance and his crew helped create a community of bass lovers in his hometown providing an audience to upcoming legends such as Wraz. After 10 years of promoting shows and working at many festivals around Canada, He rapidly started garnering support for his own productions from some of the

biggest labels in the scene with releases on Sentry Records, Deep Dark & Dangerous, Wheel & Deal & Nomine Sound.

Now with releases on Labels such as Boogie T’s Drama Club Recording, Forthcomings on J:Kenzo’s Artikal Records and collaborations with Antennae, Abstrakt Sonance & many more coming up in 2025. Substance is reaching new levels with his tunes showing he can do many genres of bass music.

Drisan (HU) met electronic music around 1994-'95 and he collects and plays house, techno and breakbeat records as well as dub-influenced music ever since.

After relocating from Hungary to London UK in 2006 he was actively playing Dj gigs at various venues such as Corsica Studio, CosmoBar, 1001East, ReleaseClub, ShelterHoxton, Thames-RiverBoat, NOMAD, MangoLandin', whilst holding a residency at Clapham's InigoBar and other open-air parties/Forrest gatherings mostly in Kent and along the Thames riverside with the Askarabaskara Crew.

In 2010, He came runner-up at Steve Lawler's 'VIVaMusic-HarlemNights DJ Competition' on Mixcloud, and in 2013 his first track (remix) won the category of People's Vote at the 'Antarctic Rhythms' remix contest on Jamendo, organized by the legendary DJ Spooky [The Subliminal Kid].

6 years on, in 2019 his first EP was released by @MOIRAaudio Recordings, followed by another one including 2 dub tracks on @Dub-Communication.

In 2020, Drisan finished his university dissertation titled "Exploring the niche markets of Techno music, dance cultures and Vinyl record consumption in the digital age" a dance-music-related research project utilizing theories from Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi and Maslow in order to better understand our connections, motivations and needs as Techno DJs/Record collectors to buy physical (vinyl) format in Today's realm of technology-driven digital world, which earned him an MBA Hons degree at Birkbeck, University Of London.

I just believe that honesty is key to being true in music - just like it probably is in life - and I'd also like to believe that, first we must come to terms with what honesty means to us personally, and how our music can possibly represent this honesty-to-our-own-selves in whatever music we make, otherwise no one will be able to make truthful, honest beats no matter what we try to produce, to work on for days, for weeks and often for months - It just won't work out eventually. So please if we all could, let's just try to remember this one thing called ‘honesty’ when it comes to sacrificing your valuable time and energies, putting our efforts and feelings into music production no matter what level we are at in the music-making process.
