It’s a plain fact - close friends and production / DJ partners Grzegorz and Wojciech are enjoying a stellar and prolific career as the house outfit Catz ’n Dogz. Working their way up from humble beginnings, they now deliver constant DJ shows at the hottest venues across the globe and killer EPs and remixes with the biggest labels on the scene including Defected, Dirtybird and Cocoon, while their fourth full-length studio album ‘Friendship’ was released just last year on their own Pets Recordings. As well as the underground scene the duo have also broken onto the bigger global stage through remixes and collaborations with names like The Chemical Brothers, Roisin Murphy and Disclosure.

There is a fine line between genius and insanity that Basti Grub has been balancing on for over 10 years. A time of intrepid experimentation with different musical influences and stylistic outbursts. A multi-faceted coming of age process that has made him what he is today - a creative madman whose mental orchestra never stops.

Whether its different instruments, modular systems or synths Basti Grub who was born in Frankfurt loves the unpredictable and never limits himself by thinking in conventional terms.

From a very early age onward it became clear that Basti´s fascination with music would take center stage in his life. The roots: reggae music, a Roland MC 303, turntables and life-changing trips to Omen and Robert Jonson which would lay the foundation to Grub´s concept of club-orientated sound.

About two years ago Basti Grub made a musical leap forward that took him to where he was already aiming for in his beginnings – a sophisticated minimalist yet groovy sound with high standards. This development did not go unnoticed and led to Basti Grub becoming the producer one of the Techno institution Timo Maas.

Vancouver based producer makes soul tinged house music, Influenced by early 90s hip-hop’s use of samples, gravitating towards the deeper side of things and usually with a proclivity for chopped up jazz breaks and vocals .

Bru’s sample-heavy production’s mix diverse sounds pulled from found internet videos and dollar record bins into deep, mid-tempo house tracks. He has been Releasing Music since 2013, when he released his acclaimed ‘Changing for you’ EP on Heart to Heart records. Since 2013 Bru has been steadily releasing records on labels like Houseum Records, Axe On Wax, PNP, Piff, Ego Planet, Dansu Discs and Blaq Numbers and Happiness Therapy.

Jesse took a pilgrimage to Berlin for two years and spent the bulk of that time touring around the EU and holding down a residency with the Koffian collective at the legendary Ipse Club.

Bru has since relocated back to the coastal shorelines of Vancouver with a renewed sense of purpose, launching an event series and soon to be record label with long time collaborator / and sister ( Brau ) called ‘A Family Affair ‘. With an aim to carve a space out in Vancouver and make a platform to bring and also support the local and international music they feel should be getting more love at home and abroad.

Jesse wrapped 2018 with a great split EP with Harrison BDP on France based record label/party series ‘Happiness Therapy’. 2020 will see Bru’s first Full Length outing in 9 years on Happiness Therapy, coming up on december 11th.

From 1994 until 2004 he performed various works for countless record labels both national and international, such as EMI, Virgin, Irma, BMG, Edel, Vidisco, ZYX, among others.

It was 10 years of honest and competent work for consecrated artists such as Pato Banton, Garth Brooks, Steel Pulse, Desiree, Mano Chao, Gal Costa, Chico Buarque, Fernanda Porto, Kaleidoscópio, Leila Pinheiro, and many others.
