Bio

New Frames is the electronic partnership of Mathis Mootz and David Frisch, bringing together experience in harder club music and a detailed interest in synthesis. Mootz is also known as The Panacea and Squaremeter, while Frisch's knowledge of analogue and modular equipment forms an important part of their shared studio practice. Their techno has appeared on Hands, BITE and R-Label Group, alongside their own SISTEMA imprint. Working in different software has sometimes made collaboration more decisive: exchanging rendered audio meant committing to sounds instead of endlessly revisiting their settings. The project also reaches beyond the club. Bloom: Ambient Music for Flowers and Plants, released in 2026, combines synthesis, field recordings, acoustic instruments and voices in music concerned with plant life and its human surroundings. It reveals a quieter side of the same partnership, extending the range suggested by their harder records.
