Bio

Rainforest approaches jungle as a place to explore different rhythms, not a single production formula. Working from Mexico, Rodrigo Alvarez moves between broken beats, halftime space and more atmospheric drum and bass, with dub providing another lasting influence. His music has appeared on labels including AGN7 Audio, Alphacut and 45Seven, while his own Backgrounds Music and Breakbeat Rebelz projects have created room for further experiments. Murk Patterns brings several sides of that approach together: sparse drum patterns, slower-moving atmospheres and more forceful jungle passages share the same album. Collaborations with Homemade Weapons, David Louis and Heatwave introduce other voices without narrowing its range. His work with Arietta, including Native Dub and Rising, adds another connection to a career built around finding different ways to make rhythm, bass and space interact.
