Bio

J:Kenzo works across dubstep and jungle, connecting the weight and space of 140-BPM music with the breakbeats that first drew him into electronic sound. Jay Fairbrass built a substantial catalogue through Tempa and Argon, while records for 31 Recordings and his Specialist X alias for AKO Beatz kept drum and bass close to his work. His self-titled Tempa album and the later Taygeta Code offer longer views of that musical range. Old rave recordings remain a source of inspiration: a fragment of MC Navigator from a DJ Ron tape found its way into Narky (Body Dem), linking a studio production directly to his early listening. Through Artikal Music and the dub-focused Lion Charge, he also supports other artists, including Ternion Sound, Mystic State and Sabab. DJ appearances at venues such as fabric and Hidden sit alongside those label roles, with the exchange between dubstep, dub and jungle running through all of them.
