Albert Salvatierra makes techno with a firm rhythmic centre and room for emotion, moving between hypnotic repetition and more exploratory sounds. Based in Barcelona, the Lleida-born DJ and producer runs Elart Records and has released on Planet Rhythm, Skryptöm and Newrhythmic. His connection to the music began on the dance floor at Florida 135, where he later appeared behind the decks himself.
After establishing himself in Spanish clubs, Salvatierra began producing in 2018 and founded Elart the following year. His performances have included Glazart in Paris, while his records have received support from DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Rødhåd and Ben Sims. A childhood spent studying violin sits behind his electronic work, but experimentation is equally important: Expedition to Mars used an imagined space mission to explore different moods within techno. In his sets, electro, breaks and ambient passages can interrupt the four-to-the-floor pulse.
