Mat Zo has made stylistic range a defining part of his work, moving between trance, house, drum & bass and music that resists an easy club category. The British-born, Los Angeles-based producer Matan Zohar developed his career through Anjunabeats while also releasing drum & bass as MRSA on labels including Hospital and RAM.
His debut album Damage Control brought UK garage, hip-hop and trance into the same record and earned a Grammy nomination. It also included Easy, his collaboration with Porter Robinson. In 2014, Zo founded MAD ZOO as an outlet for music unconstrained by genre, releasing his second album Self Assemble through the label. Later work such as Illusion of Depth drew more openly on his background in rock bands and his interest in a synchronised live show. Performances at EDC, Ultra, Tomorrowland and Creamfields sit alongside a studio career that values musical curiosity as much as dance-floor impact.
