Bio

Tommy The Cat works within jungle's vinyl and breakbeat traditions, connecting his own productions with parties and a platform for other artists. Samuel 'Sammie' van Cleef spent years DJing and organising free parties as Sam-C before developing this identity and launching Cat In The Bag in 2018. His listening began with the blues and jazz records around him at home. The Tommy The Cat name comes from the Primus track featuring Tom Waits, a reference that also nods to his father's collection. Park Sessions and Oldschool Shoes sit alongside releases for Myor Massiv, E-Beamz and Unknown To The Unknown. Based in the Netherlands, he also runs Cat In The Bag Jungle Sessions at Amsterdam's OT301, keeping record-making connected to a regular meeting place for the music.
