Bio

Alpha Rhythm makes melodic drum and bass with an interest in sharing music that began before he was producing it. As a teenager, he ran an online station with help from a friend, followed by years of DJing and eventually a focused move into production. Guidance from Villem developed into a creative partnership, with the two going on to make records together. Based in Pittsburgh, he has released through Hospital, Fokuz, Spearhead and Liquicity and performed at Hospitality on the Beach. Composition remains an important part of the work beneath the drums and basslines. The Ascension EP with Natus includes a solo-piano arrangement and a score for its title track, giving listeners the option to play the music themselves. That gesture connects his earlier impulse to share records with a more direct invitation into the music he now writes.
