DJ Koncept connects the precision of battle turntablism with the spaciousness of atmospheric drum and bass. Originally from Bangor, Northern Ireland, and now based in Auckland, he began with hip-hop before moving into rave music. Scratching remained central: his titles include the UK DMC Supremacy championship in 2018, and his routines bring drum and bass into a discipline often associated with hip-hop.
His productions favour melody, deep bass and breakbeats with room to breathe. Work with A Sides and Kool Keith reflects the breadth of those roots, while his debut album Pacific Perception develops a sustained atmospheric journey across different levels of energy. With his brother Adam, also known as Albert Wesker, he runs Vinyl Combat and the wider breakbeat outlet Knife Skills. Radio work for Jungletrain and Kniteforce extends the same relationship between technical craft and musical selection.
