Denis Kaznacheev makes club music that leaves room for odd details: a crooked synthesiser phrase, a small electronic interruption or an unexpectedly organic texture inside a patient groove. The Siberian-born, Berlin-based producer developed that approach through Easy Changes, his partnership with Sil, and through Nervmusic, the label he co-founded. His solo work gives the same curiosity a different setting, moving through minimal techno and the deeper edges of house.
One formative reference is Ricardo Villalobos's Y.G.H. Kaznacheev has described hearing it in the early 2000s as a turning point in his understanding of dance music. Collaboration remains another thread, from the Syud project with Laurine Frost to work with Alka Rex and Anestie Gomez. His connection with Argentina also reaches beyond touring: an Easy Changes visit in 2009 began friendships with local artists that he was still maintaining years later. Across DJ sets and productions, his interest lies in the detail and unpredictability within the groove.
