Marcus Visionary has helped sustain Toronto's jungle culture as a DJ, producer and broadcaster. The Prophecy, which he traces back to CKLN in 1994 before its move to CIUT, became a long-running radio connection between the city and the wider drum-and-bass scene. His DJ approach also reaches into other strands of British bass music.
Reggae voices are an important part of his production history. Albums for Liondub, including Carib and Humble, brought jungle rhythms into contact with singers such as Johnny Osbourne, Sugar Minott, Pad Anthony and Bunny General. His work has also connected with Shy FX's Digital Soundboy.
With Lush, he developed Inner City Dance in Toronto, extending that activity into a label and its sister imprint Stereo One Music. Radio, records and local organisation remain closely related parts of his career.
