Bio

Lakej makes techno with close attention to rhythmic structure, atmosphere and the small details inside a repeating pattern. Based in Stockholm, the producer spent years developing that approach before debuting on Adriana Lopez's Grey Report with Structural Cohesion. Its organising ideas continued into later titles and projects, making concepts part of the work alongside the sounds themselves. Releases on Semantica, NON Series and Soma place Lakej within a network of labels concerned with techno's deeper and more hypnotic possibilities. Albums, EPs and remixes provide different scales for that exploration, balancing the demands of a dancefloor with music suited to concentrated listening.
