Bio
Stanny is a Belgian techno producer and DJ whose career emerged from the underground electronic scene of the 1990s. Born in Tongeren in 1973, he discovered electronic music through EBM, new wave and Detroit techno, influenced by Front 242, Nitzer EBB and Underground Resistance. He began DJing at 16, exploring acid techno before developing his own production style.
His early work appeared on Reload as Propionic and Cronical Re-Form, followed by two acclaimed albums, Electronic Lesson 1 and EL2, released as G F on KK. His music gained international recognition, with Sven Väth becoming a notable supporter. Väth played Stanny’s Obsession For The Unknown EP at Love Parade ’98, while Electronic Lesson 1 reached the top of his chart.
Stanny went on to release on influential labels including Primate, Zenit, Conform, Kobayashi, Zync, Skunkwork, Molecular and Countdown 2000. His collaborations with Marco Carola, Gaetano Parisio, Patrick Lindsey and DJ Lowdown further expanded his international profile.
In 1999, Stanny founded Genetic Records, releasing music from artists including Umek, Danilo Vigorito, Rino Cerrone, Manu Kenton, Davide Squillace and Boriqua Tribez.
He has also remixed artists including Henrik B, Johan Bacto, Samuel L Session, Chris Liebing, Monika Kruse and Miss Kittin. With a career rooted in underground techno, Stanny remains a recognized figure in European techno history.
