Bio
Defective Audio is one of Dom Sweeten's hard-house identities, rooted in the free-party culture and Brighton beach raves where he began DJing in the early 1990s. He also produces as Base Graffiti and forms OD404 with Superfast Oz, whose releases include Panic Button and 9 Bar. Across those projects, his music has appeared on Tidy Trax, Nukleuz, Tripoli Trax and his own Kaktai and Spinball imprints. Sweeten's approach crosses genre boundaries: he layers grooves in his DJ sets and uses hoover sounds, acid and house chords for their tonal possibilities rather than treating them as fixed formulas. Alongside original productions and remixes, he works in sound design, engineering and custom sample libraries through 404Studio. Current rave and classic-house mixes retain a connection to that early dance-floor background.
